I'm sure the IRS deserved the holy hell she gave them. 👍. Good for your mama, Paul!

I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall at the IRS office when they opened your Mom's letter. I bet it was like a tactical nuclear device had detonated. Nice story, thanks.

What a great story. To think that your mom opened a can of whoop ass on the IRS is a great comfort. She beat them at their own game.

Just got off the phone with mom. She is going to be 95 on her birthday and in pretty good shape. She hasn't read the story because she doesn't have a computer, so I put them in the mail, and she gets them whenever. She started saving the stories when I wrote them, but she was the only one reading them. She puts them in a plastic and into a binder. Her granddaughter found them and sent them out to the family. Sean Dietrich moved his platform to Substack and I followed.

Don’t mess with mom! Good for her telling IRS off. Sounds like you had a wonderful farm to grow up in. I know it’s a lot of work & sure mom was worth her weight in Gold!

Loved your story, Paul. Your mom reminds me of my grandmother. She grew up and lived in southwestern Arkansas. I don't know if the IRS ever questioned her duties, but if they had, she would have been as mad as your mom. She worked as hard as a man on the farm and cooked, canned, gardened and kept chickens. She was a tiny thing but could keep up with the best of them. I've seen her throw bales of hay off a truck as easily as a strong man, and not bat an eye. She is my hero, but I will never live up to her example. Unfortunately, women like her disappeared with her generation.
